Rusk Co., TX (August 15, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Rusk County on Wednesday afternoon, August 14, claimed one person’s life.
According to reports provided by the Rusk County Office of Emergency Management, a major collision occurred on US Highway 79 East. The incident blocked multiple lanes on both the eastbound side of the road and the westbound side of the road. Authorities shut down the highway as they worked to remove the involved vehicles. One person was fatally injured in the crash and pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
