Terms & Conditions
Eligibility:
- Open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
- Employees, agents, and representatives of McGuire Firm and their immediate families are not eligible to participate.
- Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
- The recipient nonprofit organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) charity in good standing with the IRS, with primary headquarters located in one of the following counties: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Gregg, Hardin, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Jasper, Jefferson, Lamar, Liberty, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Newton, Orange, Panola, Polk, Rains, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Trinity, Tyler, Upshur, Van Zandt, Wood.
Entry Period:
- The giveaway begins on February 1, 2025, and ends on February 21, 2025 (the “Entry Period”).
- All entries must be received during the Entry Period to be eligible.
How to Enter:
- Participants may enter by completing the following steps:
- Liking and following the McGuire Firm on Facebook.
- Commenting on a $10K Giveaway post.
- Tagging their nonprofit of choice in their comment.
- Limit: One (1) entry per person.
- Incomplete, fraudulent, or duplicate entries will be disqualified.
- Participation does not establish an attorney-client relationship between the entrant and McGuire Firm.
Prize:
- The nonprofit organization receiving the most eligible votes will receive $10,000 (ten thousand dollars) in the form of a check payable directly to the nonprofit organization. No substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent of the prize is permitted.
Winner Selection and Notification:
- The final tally will be conducted on February 22, 2025.
- The winner will be notified by email or phone on February 24, 2025, and will be announced live on the McGuire Firm Facebook page no later than Friday, February 28.
- If the winner cannot be contacted or fails to respond within two (2) days, or the nonprofit is ineligible, an alternate winner will be selected.
Publicity:
- By participating, entrants and the nonprofit organizations they nominate consent to the use of their name, likeness, and entry for promotional purposes by McGuire Firm without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.
Taxes:
- Any federal, state, or local tax implications for the nonprofit organization are their responsibility.
- The nonprofit organization may be required to provide a W-9 form before receiving the funds.
General Conditions:
- McGuire Firm reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the giveaway if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor impairs the integrity of the giveaway.
- McGuire Firm is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete entries or technical errors.
Compliance with Legal and Ethical Rules:
- The giveaway is conducted in accordance with the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.
- The giveaway is not intended to solicit clients or provide legal services.
Limitation of Liability:
- By participating, entrants release McGuire Firm, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any liability arising from participation in the giveaway or acceptance of the prize.
Disputes:
- This giveaway is governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
- Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Smith County, Texas.
