Smith County, TX (July 25, 2025) – A Tuesday crash on State Highway 64 claimed the life of a motorcyclist and caused damage to multiple vehicles after a Jeep failed to yield during a left-hand turn.
The accident took place on July 23 along State Highway 64, involving a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Jeep SUV. According to preliminary reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Jeep, traveling westbound, attempted a left turn onto Wolfe Lane but failed to yield the right of way. This led to a collision with the eastbound motorcycle. Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep SUV escaped the collision without injury. A third vehicle, a Honda SUV, which had been stationary at a stop sign on Wolfe Lane, was also caught up in the crash. Although the Honda’s driver was unharmed, they were taken to a Tyler hospital as a precaution. Investigators stayed on-site to examine the factors behind the crash and document the events.
