Smith County, TX (July 30, 2025) – A tragic crash in Smith County on Tuesday claimed the life of a motorcyclist after a collision involving two SUVs on State Highway 64.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred July 29 when a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling eastbound on State Highway 64 collided with a westbound Jeep SUV. The Jeep reportedly failed to yield while attempting to turn left onto Wolfe Lane, cutting into the motorcycle’s path.
A third vehicle, a Honda SUV, was stopped at a stop sign on Wolfe Lane at the time of the incident and was damaged during the crash. While the Honda driver was not physically hurt, they were taken to a Tyler hospital as a precaution. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim. Authorities continue to investigate the crash to determine all contributing factors.
