We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.
Car Accidents in Texas
Texas sees tens of thousands of motor vehicle crashes each year, with many resulting in serious or life-altering injuries. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, there were over 244,000 people injured in traffic-related incidents in 2023 alone. While some are able to walk away with minor scrapes, others require months of recovery and long-term care.
One challenge survivors often face after a crash is dealing with common injuries. Here are several examples that are frequently reported after vehicle accidents:
- Neck and Back Injuries: Whiplash, herniated discs, and spinal fractures are some of the most common issues. These injuries can linger and interfere with daily movement, sometimes requiring long-term therapy or even surgery.
- Concussions and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs): Head trauma may be caused by sudden jolts or direct impacts during a crash. While some concussions are mild, others may result in lasting cognitive changes, requiring ongoing neurological care.
- Broken Bones: Arms, legs, ribs, and pelvises are frequently fractured during collisions. These injuries can lead to long hospital stays and may require surgical intervention to heal properly.
- Internal Injuries: Organ damage or internal bleeding can sometimes go unnoticed at the scene but pose serious risks. Immediate medical evaluations are critical to catch and treat these injuries early.
- Emotional and Psychological Distress: Even if physical wounds heal, many victims experience post-traumatic stress, anxiety, or depression in the weeks and months after an accident.
