Hit-and-Run Accidents in Texas
Hit-and-run accidents are a growing concern throughout Texas. According to state data, thousands of hit-and-run crashes occur each year, many of which lead to serious injuries or fatalities. These incidents leave victims without immediate support while making it harder for them to secure financial compensation.
After a hit-and-run accident, victims often face several challenges, including:
- Delayed Emergency Care – When a driver flees the scene, victims may not receive immediate medical attention, which can worsen injuries.
- Uninsured Motorist Claims – If the at-fault driver is not found, victims may need to rely on their own insurance to cover medical and repair costs.
- Difficulty in Holding the Driver Accountable – Law enforcement must rely on witness statements, traffic cameras, and other evidence to track down the responsible party.
- Financial Struggles – Without compensation from the at-fault driver, victims may struggle with medical bills, lost wages, and vehicle repairs.
- Emotional Impact – Being left alone after an accident can cause lasting trauma, anxiety, and stress for victims.
