Motorcycle Accidents in Texas
Motorcycle accidents claim the lives of over 100 people each year in Texas, and many more are left with severe injuries from these crashes. Motorcyclists, much like other road users, have minimal protection in the event of a collision, often resulting in significant trauma such as head injuries, broken bones, and internal injuries.
There are several reasons motorcycle accidents occur so frequently in Texas. Key factors include:
- Distracted or Inattentive Driving: One of the most common causes of motorcycle crashes is drivers who are not fully focused on the road. These drivers pose a serious risk to motorcyclists.
- Speeding: When drivers exceed the speed limit, they are more likely to lose control of their vehicles, increasing the risk of accidents involving motorcyclists.
- Intoxicated Driving: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs greatly impairs a driver’s ability to operate a vehicle safely, leading to higher chances of accidents with motorcyclists. Impaired drivers may veer off the road or encroach on motorcycle lanes.
If you have been hurt as a result of a motorcycle accident, you may have the option to file a legal claim against the driver responsible. A personal injury lawsuit can help cover your medical expenses, lost income, and other costs related to the accident. It is essential to act quickly to reach out to a Tyler motorcycle accident lawyer to ensure that you gather the best evidence possible and build a strong case.
