Tyler, TX (February 19, 2025) – A person attempting to help after a minor crash was injured when a suspected drunk driver crashed into the scene near Paluxy Drive and East Southeast Loop 323.
The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday when two vehicles were involved in a minor collision. A bystander, seeing the crash, approached to offer assistance. Moments later, a third vehicle collided with the initial crash scene, striking the other vehicles and pushing the bystander away. Emergency crews arrived to provide medical care, and the injured individual was treated for their injuries. Authorities arrested the driver of the third vehicle, who is now in custody at the Smith County Jail, on charges of driving while intoxicated. Officials have not yet released the driver’s name.
