Gardendale, TX (March 10, 2025) – Two men lost their lives in a head-on collision late Saturday night, March 8, in Gardendale, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The crash happened at 11:37 p.m. at the intersection of E. Goldenrod Drive and N. Alfalfa Avenue Authorities say Nicholas Matthew Gonzalez, 34, of Miles, TX, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Goldenrod, while Juan Jesus Vasquez, 42, of Longview, TX, was traveling eastbound in a 2012 Dodge Ram. As both vehicles reached the intersection, they collided head-on. Authorities confirmed that both Gonzalez and Vasquez died at the scene. DPS confirmed that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
