Car Accidents in Texas
Car accidents are a daily occurrence in Texas, with thousands of crashes happening each year. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, many collisions lead to serious injuries that require medical treatment and extended recovery times.
Here are some common reasons crashes occur:
- Rear-End Collisions – These are among the most frequent crashes, often caused by distracted driving, tailgating, or sudden stops.
- Failure to Yield – Many accidents happen when drivers fail to yield the right of way at intersections or when merging.
- Driving Under the Influence – Alcohol and drug impairment significantly increase the risk of severe or fatal crashes.
- Speeding – Excessive speed reduces reaction time and increases the force of impact in a collision.
- Poor Road Conditions – Weather, construction, and poorly maintained roads can contribute to accidents by making it harder to stop or control a vehicle.
