Hallsville, TX (February 6, 2025) – A school bus was involved in a serious crash early Wednesday morning, leading to road closures and emergency rescue efforts.

The accident occurred around 6 a.m. on February 5 along FM 450 near Cal Young Road. According to Texas DPS, a Hallsville ISD school bus was involved in a three-vehicle collision that left multiple people trapped in their vehicles. Emergency crews, including the Hallsville Fire Department and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene and used Jaws of Life tools to extricate victims.

Hallsville ISD released a statement confirming that no students were on board at the time of the crash. The bus driver and a bus monitor sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. A witness reported hearing the crash outside her home and observed significant damage to multiple vehicles. She stated that while the school bus appeared to have minor damage, several cars were totaled. At least one other person was seen being transported from the scene by EMS. Authorities shut down FM 450 just north of Cal Young Road while crews worked to clear the wreckage. The roadway reopened around 8:45 a.m. The Texas Department of Public Safety is continuing its investigation into the cause of the accident.

We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.
